Janet Brown's PledgePage for Team Autism
On April 27th, I will be participating in my first marathon! The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon.
Over the last couple of years I have been training with my cousin Deziray to learn how to run. She will proudly be joining me in this. We will be part of a relay team as members of Team Autism. I am running in the marathon in honor of Diego & Melina Villanueva. Diego is 9 years old and Melina is 6 years old, both siblings suffer from forms of autism. I have committed to taking on this challenge in order to benefit the Oklahoma Center for Autism, www.okautism.org This is a local group making a difference in the lives of Oklahoma individuals diagnosed with autism and their families. Autism is the fastest growing serious development disability in the US. More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with AIDS, diabetes and cancer COMBINED! I am asking you to support me by giving generously to the OFCA on my behalf. Your tax deductible contribution will help fund life changing programs for Diego and Melina and other families like theirs. Your donation is key to achieving the many goals of OFCA in giving hope, providing workshops, education and community awareness. Click below to make a secure online donation using paypal or your credit card. Please put my name, Janet Brown, in the "made in recognition" section if you make an online payment. You can also send your donation made out to: TEAM AUTISM in the mail to 1805 Joseph Dr Edmond OK, 73003 Please send your contribution by April 15th (so I can monitor my fundraising efforts). Of course contributions will be accepted after 4/15, if it works better for you. Whatever you can contribute matters...it all adds up! As I run in this, you will be with me in spirit and your partnership will inspire me to run faster and stronger to the finish line! Thank you for your support, Janet Brown |
